Brillantaisia are African plants which rapidly grow and flower outside during in the warmer months. Large lush tropical leaves are supported by square stems and topped with spikes of large purple flowers.

- Brillantaisia are easy plants to grow, they require a moist fertile soil. Regular watering and feeding will get the best results. They prefer part shade and can be grown in pots or planted out like summer bedding.. These are tender plants and will need some protection over the winter. They are best cut back and brought in for the winter, although established plants may survive in a sheltered spot.
