This Salvia grows to about 1.5m with thin stems which catch the breeze and it looks just as good at the front of the border as it does towards the back. The clusters of blue flowers are so attractive to Bees it is impossible to get a photo without one.  We have found it to be quite hardy in Norfolk.

Salvia uliginosa

  • Salvias will grow best in full sun and although drought tolerant they appreciate being watered regularly. Sharp drainage is essential and can be achieved by either growing them in pots or incorporating grit into the soil when planting. Regular applications of a  balanced feed is benificial during the growing season.
